World’s largest network of Cosmetology Schools.

I am a firm believer that every human being is beautiful in some way without ever having to enhance their appearance. Still, I agree a cosmetology school trained beautician can work on you on request but only to a certain extent. Actually, a beautician boosts more of your self confidence than the looks.

Long ago, I remember reading a catchy slogan of a lipstick manufacturer that said, “We don’t sell lipstick. We sell confidence”. Naturally, that lipstick sold more than any other lipstick. The confidence of the lipstick manufacturer in the product was viral.

Would leading cosmetology schools such as Regency Beauty Institute touch upon such finer aspects of beauty selling in their training? After all, their graduates sell a service that is high in demand always.

I guess Hayes Batson would be aware of the values of copywriting. As the CEO of 80 cosmetology schools in the U.S. she would know how to train her students in all aspects of beautifying both the body and the spirit.

Wireless barcode scanner with Bluetooth.

Once again, the local supermarket near my house either hired a wrong billing clerk or using an outdated barcode scanner. The billing clerk was finding it difficult to hold the barcode scanner in her hand which made her look clumsy and inefficient. The line in front of her grew impatient.

I thought it was easy to handle these wireless barcode scanners. With the advent of Bluetooth technology, a billing clerk can use it several feet away from the checkout counter.

I waited for my turn patiently. When I got to her, I asked her what her problem was. She informed that there is nothing wrong with the device. A particular supplier’s products carried barcode which the scanner failed to read correctly at the first attempt.

I understood and promised her that I will inform the purchase manager about this.

More business means poor customer care.

In the last two weeks, I traveled deep in Tamilnadu and visited many vaishnavite temples. While the stay, food and the perumals were excellent, I did not enjoy the bus travel.

The buses were terribly crowded. They moved at less than 30KM per hour on an average. The behavior of the bus conductors were rude. They were so polite about 30 years ago. Man, where they have all gone!

When I have certainly improved my social behavior in the last three decades, I found it the other way in many places including hotels and restaurants where at any given time, the tables are full.

It must be the crowd that is getting at bus conductors and hotel staff.

Many ancient temples are in deplorable condition due to lack of patronage where as popular temples located conveniently attract more people these days.

Ah yes! We all want comfort even to pray and we would like very much to head back to the air-conditioned hotels rooms immediately after exiting the temples and that's why we prefer to go to temples that are conveniently located.

My choice of the best Christmas photo cards.

Christmas photo cards should bring instant smile, cheerful and bright on the kids’ faces rather on adults. It is the children that add to the joyous mood of the festivals than the festival itself.
I once had several Christian friends living all over the world. How I used to spend hours to carefully select Christmas photo greeting cards from the roadside vendors!
I always ensured the cards carried pictures of cheerful children playing outdoors, preferably amidst green background. A few butterflies or dragonflies here and there would add reality to the backdrop.
It is a long time since I set my eyes upon such wonderful holiday cards ever since I lost my friends’ contact. Those days would never repeat.

Why some celebrities are dangerous?

Naturally I was attracted to click on the headline at Yahoo! news that said about the most dangerous celebrities in the world. I thought the statement was a bit bold to accuse them as such.

I was amazed why they were considered dangerous when I read the full story. Do you want to know who 'they' are?

Here are some:
1. Heidi Klum-supermodel and TV host
2. CNN talk show celebrity Piers Morgan
3. Cameron Diaz

Who considers them as dangerous?
Internet security software giants like McAfeee

Why?
Invariably sites that feature their wall posters are infected by cyber criminals. Often they lure people to websites that are laden with malicious software.

The ploy though disgusting is intelligently conceived.

Is Lindsay Lohan among the list?

I am a fan of Lindsay Lohan. I looked up to see whether she is also considered as a dangerous star fervently hoping not to find her name.

Alas! She was very much there though ranked a lowly 18th. Some consolation for me!

The gadget that every stenographer should buy!

I was embarrassed to admit that I don’t know the meaning of ‘thesaurus’. Look at the image here. What do you think it can be? Even your wildest guess won’t get you right.

It is a speaking dictionary and thesaurus that every stenographer should buy. Why, in fact, every office based executive should have one!

Oh, getting back to my embarrassment; my son told me that he recently bought it after his promotion. He felt he needed to improve upon his pronunciation. Yes, the speaking dictionary has this useful feature apart from teaching you to spell correctly and learning the meaning of new words.

In addition, thesaurus is a fantastic reference tool that helps you to find synonyms and antonyms too.

I asked my son how a thesaurus is useful to an IT man. What he informed could not educate me fully. He advised me to look up at Wikipedia to learn the meanings of ontology and Orthogonality to understand further or better buy myself a speaking dictionary cum thesaurus.

How you and I can help revive the world economy.

It is imperative to realize how much food we are wasting daily. The present economic scenario demands that we take immediate steps to stop wasting food.

One way to make us realize how much food is being thrown away is put a small board near the garbage bin under the kitchen sink and write on it the amount of food it contains. We have to weigh the wastage daily at the end of the day and write it down on the reminder board.

This will make us conscious of how much we cook and how much we eat and how we can reduce the wastage.

The credit for this idea should go to a multinational software company based in India where my son is working as a software engineer. This concept is being followed in the dining hall of the company.

News you must read:
"Dawn breaks in Bulawayo. A trail of squatting silhouettes can be seen lining a stretch of the road that runs through a poor township. Men and women scramble to pick up barely visible grains of maize and toss them into pots, buckets – all sorts of containers.-Africa Stories

Chemical free iron remover from the water.

I don’t know who said water has no taste, no color, and no odor! Come to India and you will find colored water that has distinct odor. We face different water related problems in different seasons. Traditional water softeners save our skin and clothes for a few months. Before we could heave a sigh of relief, the water from the tap comes out in reddish color indicating the presence of iron.
Ignorance in these matters leads us to use chemicals to oxidize the iron. Today, I accidentally found out an iron remover from water without chemicals. On further exploration I learnt about a gadget that looks a like an electricity consumption measuring meter. (see image)
How it works:
Iron and other contaminating matters in water are removed by some sort of advanced filtration method and air is used to oxidize the iron present in the water.
Our apartment could use this immediately.

POS Systems for Bakeries.

A bakery should be equipped with the latest cooking equipment as well as a cash management tools in order to run a successful operation. Bakeries equipped with a Bakery POS System helps business owners with a wide range of operations including reporting, inventory control, gift cards and much more. This is why more bakeries are now switching their old cash register to a POS System.

Unlike a retail or Café POS System, a bakery Point of Sale System is designed for the bakery industry and has all the necessary tools for a bakery. In the past processing a return or performing a refund would take longer than it should. Businesses that use Point of Sale Systems can processes refunds and returns faster than before. Bakery POS Systems are ideal for owners who are ready to take control and manage a bakery like it should be managed.
