With MS Windows Vista, which was released to manufacturing yesterday as per news papers today, Bill Gates assured that we may never need an external antivirus and firewall.
Oh my God! What a relief.
With due credit to Symantec and others, I place my trust on MicroSoft products more than on anyothers in the world.
If Bill Gates says so, then it will be so. Thats all. No further debate on this.
It seems Vista would be more secure than Windows XP.
Two such features -- namely Vista's new parental controls, and Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), which renders the object code of the system kernel in memory differently each time to thwart the designs of malicious code -- render his son's Vista machine comfortable enough for him to use, even though production-quality anti-virus software for the unit has yet to be completed.
