Why Gold is favoured as an investment?

First let me say some interesting facts about gold.

As per wikipedia, the first gold coins in history were coined by the Lydian king Croesus in about 560 BC.

Till 20th century, gold was the official form of currency to buy and sell things.
Most of the world stopped making gold coins as currency by 1933.

Gold as an investment:

Just a statistics will make you rue over your decision to save your hard earned money as paper money. Just as recently as Jan 2001, the gold price was only $180 per ounce. I am sure you know the current price which is around $700 per ounce.

This is an increase of nearly 300% in 5 years, which is equivalant to 60% per annum.

So what you got from your bank?

Go over this fact to substantiate my argument.

Do you remember when gas was only 25-cents a gallon? Yes it was.
You could buy 4 gallons of fuel for just one dollar.

Becasue at that time our dollar was backed by real solid silver. That same amount of silver still can buy four gallons of gas! But can your dollar buy now 4 gallons? No, obviously not.

This prooves my valid point that real money like gold and silver holds its value and it is the green paper money that is now worth a lot less.

In fact you will be surprised to note that like gas,the price of almost anything you name like food, groceries has not increased. It is only the value of the green paper money is worth lesser.

We all think have gone up, but in reality, it is the value of the US dollar that has actually gone down.

That is why your savings or investments should have a diverse portfolio on bullion like Gold, Silver, Platinum.

So, now do you realise the value of investing in GOLD, which can fetch you greater returns in the long run while it is also easy to liquidate whenever the need arises.

Look at the excellent display of gold coins at Monex, who has the experience, expertise and resources to serve most any precious metals investor's needs.
