Pregnant women suffer side effects of Topamax.

After to pointless discussion dominated by Navjot Siddhu in the cricket extra I thought I would take a small break and sat in front of the computer only to be immediately saddened by the news of Topamax victims.

The harmful side effects of Topamax did not spare the pregnant women. In fact, they reported more by way of noticing birth defects in children they gave birth to.

One of the side effects was gruesome. The new born had a small, notched lip and some extreme cases reported an open groove that extends from the roof of the mouth to the nose.

Though I am a bit relieved that the personal injury attorney team of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath are providing legal assistance, my heart reached out for the victims of negligence.

I wish every Topamax lawsuit ends in their favor.

If you hear about victims of Topamax, direct them to O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

The best of Nokia are yet to come.

I have some big news for Nokia mobile phone fans. If what I read in several gadgets discussion boards and gadgets and devices blogs, Indians are going to some of the best and technologically advanced mobile phones from nokia phones india.

You stay tuned by either reading gadget blogs or keep watching the consumermate.com, India’s only comparison shopping portal for mobile phones, computers, LCD televisions etc.

We have already been watching television ads about Nokia E7 Smart phone series that has world class features that include:

· HD video

· GPS navigation (do you remember the television ad where a youth traces his girl in a village classroom?)

· Qwerty keyboard ( I must read more about this keyboard)

· Full social networking

If I have to write all its features, you will immediately call consumermate.com and ask their technical expert for advice and guidance.

In the past, I have used this unique feature at their website and quite stunned by the quality of service. Till then, I imagined I knew all about mobile phones.

My son bought this fantastic mobile phone from Nokia as soon as he reached Norway. He keeps talking about this techno marvel with passion.

Oh, by the way, do you know that consumer mate is the largest online shop for mobile phones. You can find more than you know.

How do I send home acne remedy to Norway?

The smartly dressed customs officer did not believe my son when he vowed that the rather large jar which the officer pointed to contained home acne remedy. Poor boy, he was in no way to prove it. After all, even carefully prepared home acne remedies can’t heal a pimple in a few minutes just because a customs officer demanded!

My son did not mind the home acne remedy being confiscated; he only wished the officer make use of it which is made with his mother’s love! I am a bit embarrassed when he told that to the officer who was not moved by childish sentiment.

Now, I must find way to send another jar of home made acne remedy or I simply tell him to buy any one of the popular acne cure off the shelf. I think I would recommend Avecix, the cheapest of the top three acne cure products.

iPad faces new competitor!

iPad faces new competition from Lenovo. I did not expect it and I am sure Apple too must have been surprised. Lenovo launched LePad. Tablet PCs are said to change the way people compute and communicate socially. The world population of computer buffs are in for extraordinary technologically advanced pocket computers.

The Chinese manufacturer Lenovo is selling their LePad for only $533 whereas the Apple iPad is being sold at $800. However, Lenovo would not find it easy to change the people's mind. Apple is clearly the leader in personal and portable computers and entertainment electronics.

Here is a video demonstration of LePad.

French Ordinateur for an Indian working in a Norwegian company.

The embarrassment was so much that we had to laugh it out. What else we can do? My son whose Norwegian boss is actually a Frenchman tried his best to convey in Norwegian that he needed a clean laptop because the one that was given to him carried viruses.

His boss too equally tried his best to make my son understand that he has to put up a written request, only; he used the word Ordinateurs instead of computers. Yes, the conversation could have been carried out in English but both of them decided to have a little fun and finally, French defeated Norwegian.

When my son narrated the incident, I told him I could have helped him out had re remembered that I studied French in college.

The boss gave a free lunch for all the tough time he gave to my son and a new ACER laptop.

Let me see if I can translate the above sentence.

Le patron a offert un déjeuner gratuit pour tous les moments difficiles qu'il a donné à mon fils et un ordinateur portable ACER nouvelle.

Are there creatine supplements for women exclusively?

If you ask my feedback on some of the best creatine supplements, I would draw a blank because I have used only one product thus far and I have had no opportunities to compare with other creatine supplements.

Actually I did need any creatine supplements; my body produces sufficient amino acid. It is my husband who bought a chewable creatine tablet some years ago. He was playing tennis then and the effort took a toll on him at that age.

As ever, he quickly lost interest in Tennis (typical Gemini-eh?) and creatine building through supplements. The jar stared at me whenever I opened the fridge. I and my son shared the remains of creatine supplement.

No! At the end, none commented at me that I look anywhere like a sportswoman.

I think creative supplements are partial to women!

Ricky Ponting backs India.

What a win against the Aussies! The lingering good feeling is very sweet and I would say the pleasure was a little bit of sadistic when I saw the big disappointment on Ricky's face. I feel like pumping my fist like the bowlers do when they take a wicket.

You know what? Ricky Ponting backs India to beat Pakistan in the semi final.
I did not expect Ponting to say this frankly. Do I read between the lines?

Thank you Yuvaraj, Scahin and Raina.

Visualization of a mother.

I am waiting for the phone call from my son who told me that he would be visiting Arctic ocean during the weekend.

When he left Norway on last Saturday, I browsed through the web to gain some knowledge about Arctic ocean that usually sends up a chill up all over us even when you speak about us.

My dear Google was not all that helpful in its images database except this Arctic fox (see image).

I wonder what wonders he has captured n his camera. "Northern Lights" is a spectacular natural occurrence. I visualize him standing on the frozen Arctic Ocean with this colleagues and holding an Indian flag.

Very motherly-eh?

Think again before think and talk about Sachin Tendulkar.

I was pained beyond words to explain when I read a Facebook wall post that said India lost to South Africa because Sachin scored a century.

Even now I am seething in anger at how many Indian firmly believe luck alone can win and not the performances of the players on field. Majority of cricket lovers take immense pleasure in blaming the real performers and conveniently forget poor performances.

Sachin who has brought millions of Indians unforgettable pleasures of watching play cricket is undoubtedly the nations only hero, While his dedication and performance is acclaimed by the whole world that include hundreds of lends like Bradman, several Indians blame him that he is selfish. How cruel these people are.

Forgive them Sachin. They don't know sports and they are clueless to sportsmanship.

I want every cricket lover to read the excerpt of Nipun Dixit who also watched in pain the last over by Ashish Nehra.

“This is not just a game, and he is not just a sportsman. It’s much more than this. Words fail here.....” More on the article

PS. I corrected this blog post after a comment by Prateek which is published below this post.

Who will the play the finals in World Cup Cricket?

Oh, enough of criticisms and blaming fingers. We lost that easy-to-win cricket match to South Africa and it cannot be played back. Let us hope the Indian team desires to win not just desire to play in front of the world.

Going by the performances of individuals so far, I don't foresee our team to advance up to the final. I wish we defeat the West Indies in Madras on 20th March but that is only possible when Nehra is not picked up.

Suresh Raina should come in place of Yusuf Pathan who had been given a handful of opportunities. Suresh is more consistent than Yusuf and surely he can also bowl with better strike rate.

The world cup cricket matches played so far indicates Australia and Pakistan will clash in the finals.

How to avoid travel insurance telemarketers.

A friend of mine called me yesterday to ask when I will be going to Oslo to join my son who is now deputed there by his company. I replied I have no plans at all to leave the Indian shores (Indian skies too) and asked him what is the purpose of his call.

Travel Insurance
He said he recently diversified his insurance business ( one in every 10 persons in Madras is an insurance agent; have I exaggerated?) and now he is selling travel insurance policies too.

He went on to explain why every traveler (inland or abroad) need to insure before embarking a train or a plane and why ..... blah, blah, unmindful of my protests that I am now as stationary as a temple.

Oh those insurance agents!

Applications for sales jobs from online job sites.

My first newspaper advertisement for sales jobs was when my academy was awarded a franchise business for a competitive exam coaching program in 2006. The program was highly popular and I was glad I got the business opportunity.

I wanted three best sales executives. I inquired around my friends circle but no one was interested in a sales job even though I offered king’s ransom at that time. I decided to advertise in newspapers because I had no other option.

Online job portals 6 years ago were not so popular among job seekers. I knew of a few sales jobs related forums. I tentatively entered that avenue but quickly withdrew after reading through a few applications.

I recall this because I am again thinking of taking up a spoken English course franchise. If it materializes, I will browse through several job portals like monster.com. It will be easy to get applications from candidates through online job boards. In addition, I can apply several filtering options to get only the best of resumes.

I visualized Yuvaraj's contribution.

I mentally composed a blog post on Saturday thanking Yuvaraj Singh for defeating Ireland in the World Cup cricket match. My visualization became true today (Sunday). He first grabbed five wickets and then made 50 runs that made the victory possible for India.

Thank you Yuvaraj. It was a satisfying win for us though I would have liked to see you score at least one of your trademark six over midwicket fence.

I hope Dhoni would have had enough of Piyush Chawla at last. Bring in Aswin, captain and see how you win much more easily. He is good and deserves a long stint.

Oh yes, I almost forgot Yusuf Pathan. What a knock that relaxed the dressing room as well as the viewers!

I had no clues about pool cues.

With difficulty, I suppressed my boredom at the pool club where my son took me once to show off his snooker skills. I took a vantage seat, accepted a Diet Coke and started looking elsewhere promptly.

A few ‘ahs’ and ‘ohs’ made me turn at the direction of the pool table. Only then, I noticed a big stand at the far end of the wall that stored several pool cues. I could not understand why there were so many pool cues and why the players took considerable in choosing a cue from the cue shelf.

A cue is a cue to strike the colorful balls on the pool table (I had a secret desire to own one shining blue ball)-right? What more purpose it has?

I picked up an idle conversation with a pool player sitting beside me. He sure gave me a look that showed contempt because of my questions on this rather lazy sport.

Fortunately, before he got up in disgust, my son returned and I gladly escaped from more humiliation.

Do you have a similar experience?
