Stop spam to save the planet.

Like you, I too stopped to read the headline again.
"Stop spam to save the planet. "

Spam emails endangering the ecology of the earth? What is this? How a non-physical thing can do such harm?

But a recent study has revealed that
spam is the main cause that harms the planet earth as it produces greenhouse gases.

The true findings:
"According to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald, the research shows all those unsolicited messages, 62 trillion of them last year, generate greenhouse gases equivalent to driving a car around the planet 1.6 million times.-Times of India

Like many Indians, I too never took the spam emails that I receive (who doesn't?) daily. I just delete the emails as innocuous.

But here is the interesting fact:
There is lot of energy in sending, storing and sorting the unsolicited email messages. Do you know that 33 billion kilowatt-hours of power is wasted in this process?

The added statistics is, more than 80% of the emails that are sent daily is Spam.

Here is a shocking truth:

When McColo, the noted spammer cum web hosting service provider was closed by its Internet service provider last November, worldwide spam fell by 70% overnight.

I burrowed deep into the news report and was literally sat upright when I came to know that
most of the spam is generated from botnets and that makes it very hard to identify where it’s coming from.

You walk; I follow.

The habit of walking on the beach sand daily is the main cause for me not feeling comfortable wearing formal women's shoes. Also, I never had the necessity o wear formal women’s shoes.

Now there is reason for my decision to visit shoe-store.net, my favorite online shoe mall. For my upcoming overseas travel, I need formal shoes. I have purchased over 20 times, shoes and sandals from this online shoe store. They sell a big range of women’s shoes manufactured by every leading brand in the world.

You should visit the site at least once to know what I am talking about. Over hundred brands and 15 styles of footwear are available at the site.

My favorite shoe color is olive but my son ridiculed me when I told him I will buy olive colored formal shoes. He was actually shocked at my choice of color.

I yielded to his manly advice. After all, men walk and women follow-right?

A little bit of scary experience.

I usually take doctor’s word to be true and I believe them. But for the first time, I showed reluctance when I was prepared by the nurse for a catheter insertion to relieve me from some urinary tract infection.

Then, the gynecologist who also happened to be my close relative assured me foley catheter insertion is pretty smooth and won’t cause any discomfort due to foreign body presence.

Then she showed me few pictures, explained why a foley catheter is used in this instance, what is a drain bag etc.

I think she sensed that I am not appeased but she went about her job clinically ignoring my apprehension professionally.

Now, please don’t ask me to recount my feelings about foley catheter and my experience (?). I want to forget all about that. You better go to Allegromedical.com and find out yourself.

Look 30 years younger in 10 weeks.

I wanted to live by the fine examples set by mu husband but no, I just could not exorcise the female vanity. I have been trying to set the age clock back to 30 years even since I crossed 45.

Quite a futile effort-eh?

But I know, it is futile but still I am at it like a typical female. Even I bought an ebook titled, "The Five Secret Rituals". It is about simple but precise body movements. They were discovered back in the 1930's - inside a remote Tibetan monastery, high up in the Himalayas.

I am living very away from Himalayas. I really had no intention of following a monk's discovery. So I gifted the book off to someone I don't even remember.

The secrets were brought back to the West by a retired British army colonel - who began workshops, helping people to look THIRTY years younger, in just TEN short weeks.

You see, somehow the book found the way back to me. Yes, I received the book as a gift from again a person that I don't remember to have met in my life thus far.

Let me see, there must a God's intention that I read the book "
The Five Rituals". May be I can look like Britney Spears(see image). What a hope!Happy 2Happy 2

Big hopes for IT professionals.

Gloomy and bleak atmosphere certainly left behind a toll on thousands of IT professionals. But there are still hopes for them. Nothing in this world is permanent. Life is a cycle; it will keep moving forward only.

Some of my husband’s words brought back color on the faces of a few IT graduates who came to attend a pep talk given by my husband. They all came looking to explore the possibilities of earning online through blogging.

They are all very young and fresh graduates. My husband gave them plenty of hopes by directing them first to find out their strength. He informed them jobs in IT field have not dried out yet completely.

Tecgcareers.com has a lot to offer for IT professionals. This online IT job portal is big with resources and information.

Job seekers can create their online profile and make them available to prospective employers. Employers also post their employees requirements in Techcareers.com

IT job seekers can search jobs by location and by keywords too.

My husband learnt that many IT professionals and IT companies are not yet aware of techcareers.com Please spread the word and help the sagging morale of IT graduates.

Bangalore has changed a lot.

Bangalore has changed a lot and it changed my opinion too. I was under firm impression that Madras is bigger than Bangalore. But how mistaken I was!

My God, Bangalore is so big and vast! Other changes in Bangalore were the weather and the food.

It is hot now than I had experienced earlier. And the food is definite turned towards non-vegetarian.

Vegetarian food has become scare. I mean, the choice is very limited to vegetarians.

The one thing that has not changed at all is the language. Tamil is still the more widely spoken language. Even when my husband opened the conversation in local Kannada, the other person preferred to talk in Tamil.

Also, the city has expanded beyond expectations. Mostly I may also migrate to Bangalore by next academic year and be with my son. I miss him a lot.

Cure found for Mesothelioma.

If I start telling you about pleura is comprised of two layers-the outer layer and the inner layer, that cover and protect the lungs, I am sure you will reach out for the browser close button.

But what if I tell you about a discovery in U.K, which is said to cure pleural mesothelioma? Obviously, you would like to read on and update your medical knowledge-right?

In my Google feed reader, I read about this wonderful news. A rare combination of Pemetrexed and Carboplatin has proved to be effective in the treatment of pleural mesothelioma.

I wanted to verify this news. I checked in the web; I contacted my relative who is also a researcher in a pharmaceutical company and he verified it as genuine.

I personally wish to thank the researchers. Their effort deserves due credit.

My 'Smile' blog received 33 visitors yesterday.

After a lot of procrastination, I started a blog that is meant to make the readers smile and share. Over several months, I had accumulated a lot of funny pictures and amusing video clips. There were so many hilarious jokes too.

The main contributors of the material are my son and my friend. Yesterday, I was happy to note that the blog received 33 visitors. Not bad considering nil promotion by me.

I welcome everyone who has enjoyed, laughed aloud and shred when they looked at a picture, a video clip or even a joke to forward their contributions. I will post it in my blog with due credit. It is a chance for the contributors to get a one way link.

Can you please take a moment to visit the link below. I am sure you will smile!

Continue reading if you want to help.

The intention to help among people is always there but now, there are more people who are willing to help by sharing their knowledge free of cost. Earlier, even for an offbeat consultation, people charged by the hour.
I am glad people’s attitude is changing for the better. With humility, I would like to say that I started off a chain of helping hands after I was at the receiving end once without any expectation.
Now, it is your chance to join the chain. Do you have any knowledge about car lifts? I don’t own a car, so, I don’t know anything about automobile service tools. But, since I was asked this question from someone in my locality, I promised to find out without disclosing my ignorance.
All that I could assimilate was this: there are two types of car lifts-a two post and a four post car lift. I also learnt that a two post car lift is space saving.
Can you throw more insight on car lifts please?
Thanks in advance.

Romance and cancun honeymoons-a mismatch?

Romance and cancun honeymoons-a mismatch? Yes, of course but only if the two are not a match to each other. There is a purpose in raising this issue.

My sister’s daughter got wedded three years back but she took her honeymoon to Cancun only last month whereas, her husband wanted it the night they married. The mismatch started three years back and didn’t end even at the blue shores of Mexico.

None of the luxuries they got from the Karisma Hotels, their “Gourmet Inclusive” holiday package, bars with iced tops to keep drinks frosty cold or private-label wines from vineyards in Argentina’s Mendoza Valley could make their differences in tastes to compromise.

To me, they simply wasted their money and time. Had I got the same opportunity, my husband would have turned into antic hero and I would have been his Cleopatra.

But I thoughtfully made a note of Karisma’s five signature resorts that are:

El Dorado Royale Spa Resort (adults only),

El Dorado Seaside Suites (adults only),

Azul Beach (family-friendly)

Azul Blue Hotel + Spa – Riviera Maya

I hope I can goad my husband to plan for a second honeymoon.

What is democracy?

Bohemian Waxwing / Jaseur borealImage by Eric Bégin via Flickr

India is about to choose its leader. The national parliamentary elections are just a month away.

I used to prepare speeches for politicians ling back. Once when I used the following quote written by Laurence J. Peter at the start of the speech for someone, it received appreciation from one and all.

"Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame."

Now, I have lost the passion to write political speeches; may be because, I have turned to write satires which won't be welcome by anyone-right?

The image of this bird here? It is simple-I like it. It is so cute.

Unprotected, we stand exposed to dogs!

I am under the impression that pet lovers, especially dog lovers are psychologically not in a sound state. Why else such persons shower their unconditional love on the animal than human beings?

They are shy to show their love and affection to even their spouse but they display positive emotions shamelessly towards the animal.

The reason I am talking about this is because of a news I read today in the local daily. A boy of just 10 years old fell to death while to trying to avoid the neighbor's pet dog. The resident association has issued a strong notice to the residents who own pets, to abandon their dogs immediately.

The pet owners naturally are protesting against this notice without really bothering even to apologize. They are least bothered about the safety of other residents. Rarely they train their dogs.

I have seen the indifferent attitude of the dog walkers who allow their pet to defecate as they please. Do you know about the strict laws in the U.S? The pet owners are supposed to carry tissue papers when they take their dogs for a walk!

But then India is India and Indians are after all Indians-right? There is a strong need to educate pet owners and still a stronger need to introduce various legislation in this vexing issue.
